Well, it’s another summer in the books and it was a great one! It was our first full year with our new drummer, Derrick Martins! Derrick also got married to an amazing woman named Stef! Congrats to the two of them! BC5A played many great Festivals this summer, but one of the highlights was Naperville RibFest where we opened for The Band Perry! The best part of summer was meeting all of you and making new friends and fans! Thank you all for all of the support and love you have showed this band over the past 5 years! So whats on tap for next year you ask? Well, we are already putting together an all new, bigger and better show, that will knock your boots off for 2016! How the heck ya doing y’all? We have taken a little winter break to re-charge our batteries, but beginning in Feb. we will be hitting it hard again! Mark your calendar’s BC5A fans! Feb. 7th we will be back at The Big Rock Fire Dept’s annual dance to help raise money for equipment and training! It’s only $10 to get into the door and that gets you a pulled pork dinner and all the popcorn you can stuff in your mouth. “Derrick Martens has been rocking the Chicago music scene and touring the country since his return from L.A. 5 years ago. While out in LA he studied at the world famous Musicians Institute under some of the best musicians in the industry. Bands he has performed live with include, JP and the Cats, Empire State Express, The Top Shelf Lickers, The Paige DeChausse Band, The Possom Hollow Boys, The Chicago Blues Angels along with an extensive list of studio dates. Derrick is also an educator, and works very hard to hone his craft that he shares with the world.”
